The Ambassador Coated is the most popular drumhead in the world, featuring the perfect combination of warm, open tones with bright attack and controlled sustain. Constructed with 1-ply 10-mil Coated film, Ambassador Coated drumheads are the industry standard for all applications.
The company Remo is the most important drumheads manufacturer in the world. For over 60 years, Remo has constantly and consistenly broken new ground when it comes to industry firsts.
Its founder, Remo D Belli, was a pioneer of percussion. In 1957, he invented the firstsuccessful synthetic Mylar® drumheads, the current industry standard. These drumheads replaced those of calf skin, used until that date.
Mylar was an unusually durable, inexpensive and weather resistant material that provided previously an unattainable pitch, tone and consistency.
Throughout the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s, Remo continued to innovate and became the world’s drumhead specialist in virtually every category from percussionists and orchestral timpanists to drum corps, jazz, blues and rock. Technical innovation never before imagined in drumheads reached new heights, thanks to new laminations, processes and coatings found in other Remo firsts such as Controlled Sound™ , Pinstripe®, Smooth White™ , Powerstroke®, Fiberskyn®, Suede®, Renaissance®, Nuskyn®, Skyndeep® and Comfort Sound Technology™ .
